Why Keys Get Stuck in Locks
Keys become stuck in locks due to worn key edges not fully engaging the pins, internal lock wear causing pins to bind, dirt and debris inside the lock mechanism, the key being inserted incorrectly or forced, a bent key jamming in the cylinder, broken internal springs or pins, or attempting to use the wrong key. Never force a stuck key as this often breaks it off inside the lock.

When your key is stuck, do not keep turning it forcefully as this can break the key, do not pull hard on a stuck key as this can damage the lock, do not spray lubricants randomly as some make it worse, and do not insert other objects to try to push the key out. Our Key Extraction Process
We carefully assess why the key is stuck, use specialized extraction tools to grip and remove the key, apply appropriate lubricants to ease removal, avoid damaging the lock mechanism during extraction, test the lock after extraction to ensure it works, and cut a new key if the extracted key is damaged. Most stuck key extractions take 10-30 minutes and do not require lock replacement.
Preventing Future Key Problems
