Full Waterproofing & Damp Treatment, Somerset West — R 55 370

A Somerset West home had significant damp and waterproofing issues across several areas, a main balcony, a smaller balcony above the fireplace, a plant box requiring drainage, and damp-affected interior walls. On both balconies, the old torch-on was stripped back, the surface cleaned and primed with slurry and torch-on primer, then 4mm heavy-duty torch-on applied and finished with a silver reflective coating, including a new roof drain on the main balcony. The plant box had a drainage hole drilled through using a PVC pipe and Sikaflex, with torch-on primer and 4mm torch-on applied and finished with a protective reflective coat so water drains out to the garden rather than sitting and causing damage.

The interior damp walls were treated by scraping back loose paint, drilling injection holes 150mm from ground level at 10cm intervals along the affected walls, injecting damp treatment into the wall, sealing the holes and applying damp-seal plaster primer, ready for the owner's contractor to paint over. A thorough fix across every source of ingress rather than just the surface symptoms.
