What to Do When Your Geyser Bursts
A burst geyser releases hundreds of litres of hot water into your ceiling and home. First, immediately turn off the geyser at the DB board and shut the main water supply if possible. Then call our Gordon's Bay plumbing team for emergency assistance. Every minute counts when water is pouring through your ceiling.
Why Geysers Burst
Geysers typically burst due to excessive pressure buildup, a faulty pressure valve that fails to release excess pressure, corrosion weakening the tank over time, or thermostat failure causing overheating. Most burst geysers are over 10 years old and have not been maintained.
Our Emergency Burst Geyser Service
We arrive with replacement geysers and all necessary equipment. Our team will stop the water flow, assess the damage, remove the old geyser, and install a new one the same day in most cases. We also provide temporary hot water solutions if needed and help document damage for insurance claims.
Replacement and Upgrades
When replacing a burst geyser, we recommend upgrading to a quality brand with better warranties. We install high-pressure valves and ensure proper thermostat settings to prevent future bursts. All installations come with a Certificate of Compliance.
